Three Available Methods<\/h2>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"11\">Method A: In-Person Presence of Spouses<\/h3>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"12\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Written agreement:<\/b> The spouses sign the agreement with a verification of the authenticity of their signatures (<i data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"111\">&#8220;gnisio ypografis&#8221;<\/i>) and attend the notary appointment alongside their lawyers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"13\">Method B: Via Power of Attorney (Proxy)<\/h3>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"14\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Through lawyers:<\/b> Using a specific notarial power of attorney (signed within the last month), the lawyers are authorized to act on behalf of the spouses (see details below).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"15\">Method C: Paperless (&#8220;Invisible&#8221;) Divorce<\/h3>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"16\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"16,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Digitally via gov.gr:<\/b> Joint digital declaration. No signature verification is required. <b data-path-to-node=\"16,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"88\">Prerequisite:<\/b> Both Tax Registration Numbers (AFM) and Social Security Numbers (AMKA) must already be registered on the marriage certificate.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote data-path-to-node=\"17\">\n<p data-path-to-node=\"17,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"17,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Full Validity of the Divorce:<\/b> The marriage is dissolved <b data-path-to-node=\"17,0\" data-index-in-node=\"56\">only<\/b> when a copy of the notarial deed is registered at the Registry Office (<i data-path-to-node=\"17,0\" data-index-in-node=\"132\">Lixiarcheio<\/i>) where the marriage was originally declared (or via electronic registry update in the case of a paperless divorce). For religious marriages, a spiritual dissolution by the respective Holy Metropolis must precede this step.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"19\">5. Signature Verification (<i data-path-to-node=\"19\" data-index-in-node=\"27\">Gnisio Ypografis<\/i>) \u2014 Where to Obtain It<\/h2>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"20\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"20,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"20,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">KEP (Citizens Service Centers):<\/b> Upon presentation of an ID card, valid passport, or driver&#8217;s license.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"20,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"20,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Secretariat of the First Instance Court:<\/b> At the secretariat of the competent Court of First Instance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"20,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"20,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Any administrative authority \/ public service:<\/b> Pursuant to Article 11 of Law 2690\/1999 (Code of Administrative Procedure).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"20,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"20,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Digitally via gov.gr:<\/b> Using Taxisnet credentials via the digital document verification service \/ approved electronic signature.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"20,3,0\"><i data-path-to-node=\"20,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Note: In a paperless divorce, signature verification is not required as consent is provided digitally.<\/i><\/p>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"22\">6. Step-by-Step Procedure: Methods A &amp; B (In-Person or via Power of Attorney)<\/h2>\n<ol start=\"1\" data-path-to-node=\"23\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"23,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Agreement &amp; Drafting:<\/b> The two lawyers draft the private agreement for the dissolution of marriage (including arrangements for children, if applicable).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"23,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Signing with Verification:<\/b> The written agreement is signed with a verification of the authenticity of the signatures (via KEP \/ Court Secretariat \/ gov.gr \/ administrative authority). In the case of a power of attorney, the lawyers act on behalf of the clients.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"23,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">10-Day Waiting Period:<\/b> A mandatory period of at least 10 days must elapse from the date of the written agreement.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"23,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Notarial Deed:<\/b> Signing of the marriage dissolution deed before a notary public (if using a power of attorney: within one month of its issuance).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23,4,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"23,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Spiritual Dissolution<\/b> <i data-path-to-node=\"23,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"22\">(Religious marriages only)<\/i>: Dissolution of the marriage by the Holy Metropolis to which the church where the wedding took place belongs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23,5,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"23,5,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Registration at the Registry Office:<\/b> Filing a copy of the deed at the Registry Office where the marriage was declared \u2014 <b data-path-to-node=\"23,5,0\" data-index-in-node=\"120\">the marriage is officially dissolved at this point.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23,5,0\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"23,5,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"23,5,0\" data-index-in-node=\"120\"><\/b><b data-path-to-node=\"24,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">W<span style=\"color: #282828;\">ith the Special Power of Attorney (Method B), lawyers are authorized to:<\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #282828;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-path-to-node=\"24\">\n<ul>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"24,0\"><span style=\"color: #282828;\"><b data-path-to-node=\"24,0\" data-index-in-node=\"78\">a)<\/b> Sign the joint agreement incorporated into the power of attorney.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"24,1,0,0\"><span style=\"color: #282828;\"><b data-path-to-node=\"24,1,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">b)<\/b> Request and collect the marriage certificate and family status certificate if not provided by the spouses.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"24,1,1,0\"><span style=\"color: #282828;\"><b data-path-to-node=\"24,1,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">c)<\/b> Sign the notarial deed of the consensual dissolution.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"24,1,2,0\"><span style=\"color: #282828;\"><b data-path-to-node=\"24,1,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">d)<\/b> File the deed with the competent Registry Office.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"24,1,2,0\"><span style=\"color: #282828;\"><i data-path-to-node=\"24,1,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">In a religious marriage, they are also authorized to take all necessary actions for the spiritual dissolution from the competent Holy Metropolis and collect the relevant document, which is filed at the Registry Office along with the copy of the notarial deed.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"26\">7. Step-by-Step Procedure \u2014 Paperless (&#8220;Invisible&#8221;) Divorce<\/h2>\n<ol start=\"1\" data-path-to-node=\"27\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"27,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"27,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Initiating the Case:<\/b> One of the lawyers logs into the platform (<i data-path-to-node=\"27,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"64\">Portal Olomeleia<\/i>) and enters the marriage certificate details or the AFM\/AMKA of the spouses.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"27,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"27,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Automatic Data Retrieval:<\/b> Spouses&#8217; details, marriage type, and children&#8217;s details are automatically retrieved from the Citizens&#8217; Registry.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"27,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"27,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Filing the Agreement:<\/b> The final private agreement is uploaded, along with the details of the lawyers and the notary; all parties are notified electronically.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"27,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"27,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Digital Approval by Spouses:<\/b> The spouses log in using their Taxisnet credentials to approve the application \u2014 this triggers the start of the 10-day cooling-off period.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"27,4,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"27,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Drafting the Deed:<\/b> After the 10-day period, the notary drafts the notarial deed, which must be approved by both spouses and their lawyers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"27,5,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"27,5,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Finalization:<\/b> The notary finalizes the deed, and the dissolution is registered digitally. For religious marriages, the spiritual dissolution details are also filled in.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"28\"><i data-path-to-node=\"28\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Note: The paperless divorce requires the spouses&#8217; AFM &amp; AMKA to be registered on the marriage certificate (typically applies to marriages after 2013). Otherwise, Method A or B must be followed.<\/i><\/p>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"30\">8.
